Minggu Sukan

I really thought that this week theme is sport! We have Sukan Antara Sidang (SDS) started the first day of April. Then we have a forum talking about sport and leadership, Forum Bicara Sukan: Sukan Pengukuh Kepimpinan dan Perpaduan Negara. Let’s talk about the first one first. SDS’s purpose was not only to encourage cadets to actively involve in sports but also to strengthen the relationship among cadets. I believe that works!.

During sport, we interact more while having fun. It is really a stress relieving.We also get to know other cadets better as people tend to show the other side of them while doing physical activities. Well at least, it is true for me. Type of sports being contested is football, netball, volleyball, and futsal. The competition is there but the most important thing is we are having fun!

DPA cadets have to be qualified in all field including sport especially as being fit and healthy is one of the requirement. Thus this program really suit the purpose. I myself have never played any of the sport involving a ball. So, I’m really glad that I got the opportunity to play futsal and I think I’m good at it.

On the 9th of April 2019, Forum Bicara Sukan was conducted in which we have Dato Mirmawan Datuk Hj Nawawi, Datuk Marina Chin and Sharon Wee as guests that night. It is a program where the sports icons share their experience in sport especially ones they directly involved.

The concept of the forum is in a relaxed manner yet the message delivered is valuable in encouraging cadets to not only focus on academics but to be active in sports for their health and maintain the stamina. The experience shared inspire cadets on how success can be achieved through discipline and endless effort.

The guest shared their own experience in which they face failure, disappointment and many obstacles before they can taste the sweetness of success. We also have a simple online quiz using the kahoot! Application. It does test knowledge about sport among the cadets.

On Friday, 13 the of April, the Final Imperius Got Talent (IGT) took place at Dewan Serba Guna with the theme, Superheros. Four categories was the betting that glorious night. They are singing, battle of the band, dendang rakyat and dances. There is also prize for the best performace which the cadets vote online through a system.

INTAN’s director Dato’ Suriani binti Dato Ahmad was very supportive to joined the event. She, accompanied Dr . Mohd Bakhari bin Ismail, Dr Jamaluddin bin Mohd Ali and En Sharul Nizal bin Sarippudin delivered the prices to all the winner.

Regardless of the team who won, it is the winner for the whole Imperius batch as everyone cheers for each other and enjoying every performances. It is really loud in the hall and many memories were created. Overall, despite the hectic week of the academic modules, having this kind of activities really help to give space and medium for cadets to take a break, relax the mind and for sure having fun but at the same time the benefits are really clear that it strengthen the relationship, nourishing esprit de corp among cadets and uncover hidden talents.
